Max Nicastro: BU hockey player pleads not guilty to rape charges

A Boston University hockey star accused of raping a female student on campus during the weekend pleaded not guilty in court yesterday and was held on $10,000 cash bail.

Max Nicastro, 21, was ordered by a Brighton judge to stay away from the victim, a female BU student, who alleged Nicastro sexually assaulted her on the school’s campus.

According to reports, BU police received a call early Sunday morning reporting that a female student had been raped and needed help getting to an area hospital.

Officers responded to the victim’s residence, where they found her to be “teary and visibly upset.”

The victim told police she was raped and identified Nicastro as the assailant, according to court reports.

The female student was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for further treatment, and Nicastro was arrested.

Nicastro is scheduled to return to court next month.
