New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has (finally) endorsed Hillary Clinton for president.

De Blasio, who worked as campaign manageron Clinton’s 2000 run for the New York State Senate, did not immediately endorse her when she joined the presidential race in April, saying he wanted to see a more progressive agenda before he threw his support behind the former secretary of state and first lady.

“The candidate who I believe can fundamentally address income inequality effectively, the candidate who has the right vision and the right experience to get the job done is Hillary Clinton,” de Blasio said during a Friday morning appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

“I have seen her vision and platform develop over five months and I’m extremely pleased with what’s she’s put on the table.”

Back in April, de Blasio called Clinton a “tremendous public servant” and “one of the most qualified people to ever run” on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” but said he wanted to see the “substance” of a progressive campaign and vision.
