Caroline de Maigret first caught our attention in Madewell’s fall campaign, which was shot in her gorgeous Parisian home/ music studio complete with the chicest white piano. Then we started seeing theFrench ‘It’ girlall over magazine pages and fashion blogs for hereffortless cool/slightly androgynousstyle. And now de Maigret is back in the spotlight as a new brand ambassador for Lancome. But who exactly is this stylish French lady and how did she land all this attention?

Coming from royalty helps. De Maigret’s grandfather, Prince Michel Poniatowski, was the Minister of the Interior and Health in France and her dad is Count Bertrand de Maigret. Early on in her career she modeled for brands such as Chanel and Balenciaga. Her cool cred then further skyrocket in 2006 when she started amusic label, Bonus Tracks Records, with her partner, guitarist Yarol Poupaud. So basically she’s fashionable, artsy, aristocratic and now we can add muse and author to that list.

In September, de Maigret will release, “How to be Parisian Wherever You are: Love, Style and Bad Habits” for the hordes of women (guilty!) always trying to capture that je ne sais quoi French ladies possess. Lancome will then try to bottle up this attitude with a forthcoming makeup collection created by the 39-year-old.

“It’s the beginning of a lovely adventure with this brand that I love so much,” says de Maigret. “A brand that offers a different vision of femininity: one that is free, intelligent and that touches both the heart and mind.”
