The best real life Broadway star to ever play a Broadway star on TV is joining the Boston Pops this summer for a show later this summer. Megan Hilty, known for her roles in “Smash” on NBC and “Wicked” on Broadway, will join the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra for an Aug. 6 performance at Castle Hill at the Crane Estate.

If you haven’t visited the Trustees’ iconic Ipswich property yet, picture this: A Gatsby-esque Great House and sprawling lawn (appropriately named the Grand Allée) leading to gently rustling waves splashing up on Crane Beach. Hilty — in all her glamorous Ivy Lynn glory — and guest conductor Bob Bernhardt of the Louisville Pops ready to perform live for 10,000 guests.

Oh that’s right — there are 10,000 available tickets.
