Melania Trump (sort of) makes first statement about Stormy Daniels drama

Melania Trump releases statement via spokesperson about Stormy Daniels.

On Sunday night’s 60 Minutes, Anderson Cooper spoke to Stormy Daniels about her side of the alleged affair with President Trump back in 2006, the hush money presented to her to keep quiet and the claims that she is only after more fame and money.

In the opening seconds of the show, Daniels said she came on air despite the risk (both financial — Trump’s lawyer seeks $20 million for violating the nondisclosure agreement Daniels’ attorney states is invalid — and personal). She said it’s important to defend herself and that she’s speaking up not for attention, but to tell her truth.

One interesting bit from the 60 Minutes segment (that might not have come to a surprise to some people) was this: Daniels claims Trump told her that he and Melania were sleeping in separate beds at the time of the alleged affair. Trump has denied ever having been involved with the adult film star.

Rumors of growing tension between the Trumps existed before Daniels-related news even surfaced, and Melania’s reaction to it all has been well under wraps (despite the fact that some argue she’s hinted at her anger during instances such as January’s State of the Union address).

Melania has never made a statement about the Daniels drama, but shortly after 60 Minutes Sunday night her spokesperson, Stephanie Grisham, tweeted a message to the press and the public: “While I know the media is enjoying speculation & salacious gossip, I’d like to remind people there’s a minor child who’s name should be kept out of news stories when at all possible.”

Grisham, of course, is referring to Trump and Melania’s 12-year-old son, Barron. There’s also another child involved here: Daniels’ daughter who was born in 2011.

Meanwhile, after a post about the economy this morning, Trump — like he always does — tweeted about falsery spread in the media (which conveniently includes the storm that Stormy Daniels has created): “So much Fake News. Never been more voluminous or more inaccurate. But through it all, our country is doing great!”

He’s fine, everything’s fine.
