Meow Parlour cat cafe opens, but you might wait nine lives to get in

Cats have owned the Internet’s otherwise cold, black heart for a while. But as the massive success of Purina’s pop-up cat cafe earlier this year proved, New Yorkers aren’t immune to their charm, either.

Today, they have a permanent spot to enjoy all the finer things in life: coffee, pastries and cats. The Lower East Side’s Meow Parlour is open for business – though the half-hour blocks (at $4 each) are booked through the end of January. But we have no doubt that you’ll gladly wait your turn, as the two-hour line at Purina’s cafe in April proved.

Cat visitors must be over 10 years old, though younger kids are welcome during family-only hours, 3-5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
