Metro Minute at an urban wilderness

We’re well into the dog days of summer. So if you don’t want to be reminded, you’d be well advised to head over to Tommy Thompson Park, a place where you will find every type of wildlife except for man’s best friend.

The 500-hectare space boasts kilometres of wildflower meadows, cobble beaches and coastal marshes, all of which provide a generous habitat for hosts of birds, deer, and even coyotes.

However, you’re asked to refrain from feeding the coyotes anything, including your own body parts.

The park is located at the foot of Leslie Street, just south of Lake Shore Boulevard East and is open to the public on weekends and holidays.
