Several people suffered minor injuries following a multi-car pileup on the Gowanus Expressway on Tuesday night.
The crashes, involving up to 30 vehicles, occurred near Sixth Avenue in Bay Ridge about 8:20 p.m., the FDNY said.
Nine people were injured.None of the injuries appeared life-threatening.
Officials did not say whether icy roads were a factor in the accident, but The National Weather Service issued black ice advisories for New York City and the rest of the tri-state area on Wednesday morning.
Both motorists and pedestrians are urged to use caution while traveling this morning.
