A dead body was discovered in the water behind a Queens home Friday morning, police said.
The man was found near Powells Cove Boulevard and 147th Place just before 9 a.m. after a Whitestone resident spotted the body from their backyard on the rocky shoreline.
Policefound a suicide note with the man, who was in his 50s, sources said. They later confirmed the man wasreported missing on Tuesday. His identity has yet to be released.
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death and the investigation is still ongoing.
