A pickup truck is pulled out of the Mystic River in Somerville Sunday night after students from MIT lost the truck when trying to pull a remote-controlled boat out of the water.

It appears some students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology need to retake physics.
State police divers were called to assist the group of students who lost their truck in the waters of the Mystic River in Somerville on Sunday night.
State police said that the MIT students were testing a 1,000-pound remote-controlled boat in the Mystic River on Sunday night. They then tried to pull the boat out of the water using their Ford Ranger pickup truck.
“Apparently this Ford Ranger could not easily pull the boat out,” state police said.
The remote-controlled boat instead pulled the truck into the water, submerging it.
With the help of state police divers, and a long tow line, the car was pulled out of the water. It was not immediately clear if the boat remained in the water or if it was removed.
