Gary Sanchez looks like he’s for real. And that’s good news for the Yankees, who are eager to turn the page and become a more relevant, young and up and coming team.

The rookie catcher, along with fellow recent call up Aaron Judge have taken the big leagues by storm, and that makes the veterans they are taking at bats from expendable.

According to multiple reports, Brian McCann could be the next Yankee out the door when the waiver trade deadline passes at the end of August. NJ.com says the Braves are one of the most interested parties, desiring his name recognition to boost the team’s popularity as they move into a new stadium.

He also provides veteran leadership in the clubhouse and behind the plate.

ESPN’s Jim Bowden said:“McCann’s leadership is something the Braves are well aware of from past experience, and because of the number of young pitchers they’re developing it would make sense to have him for at least the next two seasons.”

Playing less and less of late and hitting just .231,McCann is under contract for $17 million for each of the next two seasons,. He would also need to approve any trade, as he has a full no-trade clause and a vesting option for 2019.
