Mom hit with Target cart was buying candy

The woman hit on the bead by a shopping cart teens threw from a walkway in East Harlem was buying Halloween candy for underprivileged kids.

Marion Salmon Hedges’ husband, Michael, spoke with the New York Post, telling them the family is “going through a very difficult time.”

Marion is reportedly a wealthy real-estate agent who was buying hundreds of dollars of candy at Costco to give out to kids.

Her husband said the family also helps her sister, who was in a car accident a decade ago and suffered a brain injury, as well as her father, who just had heart surgery.

As for Marion, “It’s still too early to tell with neurological issues,” her husband told the Post.

Two 12-year-olds were arrested yesterday for assault, just one year younger than her son, 13, who saw his mother drop to the ground. Family members told the Post the arrested teens are “good kids.”
