British comedy troupe Monty Python, famous for their brilliant movies and TV shows of the ’60s and ’70s, continue to boast an impressive cult following. So, if you are one of their avid fans, brace yourself, because four of the five surviving members of the comedy team will be reuniting once again! (Well, sort of.)
Variety has reported that the surviving members of the troupe — John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, and Michael Palin — are reuniting for a new film directed by fellow Python Terry Jones.
While it’s not a Monty Python film, the friends have come together as the voices of animated aliens in the film “Absolutely Anything”, but rest assured, the film “certainly has that (Python) sensibility,” Jones told Variety.
“Absolutely Anything” is based on a script developed by Jones and Gavin Scott over the past twenty years, and has been described as a science fiction comedic satire that involves a group of aliens, an earthling given the power to do “absolutely anything.” The film will reportedly be a mixture of livr action and CGI effects.
So, does it sound like a hit?
According to Variety, plan for filming will begin in the UK this spring.
