More charges laid in attack

A man who city cops have now identified as a suspect in a Canada Day attack on a 92-year-old woman has also been charged with sexual assault.

Kevin William Harris, 36, has been charged with housebreaking with intent, unlawful confinement, robbery, sexual assault, theft under $5,000, possessing break-in instruments, trespassing and resisting a peace officer.

Police say Harris is currently in custody.

A man forced his way into the woman’s home near 100 Avenue and 150 Street sometime around 2 p.m. last Thursday, police said.

Investigators say the woman answered a knock on the door and was greeted by a muscular man who pushed his way into the house.

The man allegedly fled on an adult tricycle moments after the attack, police said.

The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and police say the suspect was arrested after city cops found him sleeping on a patio in an area near 117 Street and 100 Avenue Sunday.
