A small lineup of passengers quietly boarded the newest bus on the block heading to Leduc and the International Airport from Century Park yesterday afternoon.
The service runs during peak hours and already has a steady stream of passengers, but so far the majority of riders seem to be university students.
“I think the only problem I have so far is I have an evening class on Tuesdays and Wednesdays that goes until 9:30pm,” said Jenny Hill, a U of A student.
“Other than that, I’ll use it on the other days of the week to get to school.”
Bus driver David Cowen is driving the route for the first time today and anticipates a growth in ridership as the weeks progress.
“I imagine we won’t be too busy for the first few runs,” said Cowen.
No one on the 4:05pm bus was travelling to the International Airport but the route may see flight-borne travelers sooner rather than later.
