Mount St. Vincent University gets gassed up

Mount St. Vincent University is a little greener today.

The university announced yesterday that it is making the switch to natural gas. The change is a part of the university’s plan for a sustainable campus. Mount St. Vincent interim president Alexa McDonough joined Nova Scotia Energy Minister Bill Estabrooks at a press conference yesterday.

“It’s projects like this that allow us all to work towards a cleaner, greener province,” said McDonough, who told reporters she was proud to be involved with such initiatives.

The province’s Gas Market Development Fund contributed $367,000 towards the project, which cost almost $500,000. The fund was established with support from the Sable Offshore Energy Producers to help build Nova Scotia’s gas market.
