#Mrryme? P. Diddy proposes to girlfriend on Instagram

P. Diddy knows how to keep it romantic.

When women dream about getting engaged, I’m pretty sure the words “take dat” don’t tend to feature in the proposal. (Though, actually, the thought of some dude getting down on one knee and gently slipping a diamond on my finger while shouting “TAKE DAT!” in my face sort of just made me reconsider my views on marriage, in a good way. Attention, future suitors of America.)

It worked on Puff Daddy’s (I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again: Sean Combs will always be Puff Daddy to me) now-fiancee, at least. To be specific, the hashtag #takedat worked. Because, yes, Puff Daddy proposed to his girlfriend Cassie Ventura on Instagram. It’s a brave new world, people. And by brave I mean crappy, and by new I mean I’m pretty sure that civilization is doomed. Anyway…

Forget jumbotrons. Who needs some big, tacky proposal shtick when you can pop the question to a lucky lady with an X-Pro II filter (though, really, Valencia is a lot more romantic) and absolutely no effort at all? Not Puff Daddy, who proposed to Cassie over the weekend by posting a photo of the (huge) ring, along with the words, “Baby do you like it? I just want to get you wat you Like! I just wanna Mk you smile :).”

She must have liked “wat” she saw because she said yes. But, #nofilter, if my boyfriend proposed to me on social media, in broken English, accompanied by a happy face emoticon no less, the answer would probably be, “Yeah, pass.”
