Muir tapped to replace Baker as finance minister

Jamie Muir has been named the new Nova Scotia finance minister after the death last week of Michael Baker.

Muir was formerly minister of Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations, but left cabinet in January when he announced he would not run in the next election.

Muir said he still plans on retiring from provincial politics. He takes over from Chris d’Entremont, who was interim finance minister but had to balance that with his portfolios of community services and Acadian affairs.
