N.J. man admits to setting over 20 forest fires: Police

Police said a Winslow Township, New Jersey man confessed to lighting over 20 brush fires in the area over the past two years.

Dennis Casario was seen pulling his vehicle over to the side of Beebetown Road and starting a fire in the brush, before getting back into his car and driving away, according to police officers conducting a nearby surveillance operation to find the arsonist.

Firefighters were dispatched to put out the fire, and police later found Casario at his home, where he was arrested.

Casario was held on $75,000 bail. He faces a single charge of second degree arson, though police said his confession mean additional charges are pending.

“It definitely, 100 percent, could have turned into an issue,” Winslow Police Lt. Chris Dubler told Philly.com.
