Nas just the start of summer circuit

Last week some of the most talented artists in Halifax took the stage before an international hip-hop icon from New York.

Nas fans of all ages crowded into the Cunard Centre Sunday night, and everyone in attendance would agree that the show was proof that hip-hop is anything but dead. Nas wasn’t the only act that had the diverse crowd jammin’. Opening acts Heavy Spittaz, along with Classified and The Halflife Crew didn’t disappoint their huge Halifax fan base. And we can’t forget Ghettosocks, who said “Opening for Nas didn’t even seem real — it took a few hours after the show for it to really sink in. I had a lot of fun — it was very exciting.”

The only disappointed faces on concertgoers were those realizing the evening was over. No worries. Nas was only a taste of the hot live music that we have to offer all summer long right here in Halifax.

If the hype around the DJ Stylus awards wasn’t quite enough live spinning for your taste, tickets are on sale now for the world-famous DJ Tiesto. He was the first DJ in the world to sell out a stadium with 25,000 seats two nights in a row, and he’s got everyone scrambling to get their tickets for his July 2 show in Halifax.

Also, be sure to keep your ears open for this year’s Z103.5 Summer Rush 2008 lineup announcement. It was almost a year ago that Rihanna rocked the stage at Alderney Landing for thousands. Z103.5 will have an official announcement and lineup details next week!
