Who says art can’t come to life?
The Museum of Fine Arts will host the National Ballet of CanadaCorps de Ballet member Spencer Hack for a series of free live performances April 6-10as part oftheir new Lawren Harris exhibit.Canadian choreographic associate Robert Binetcreateda 7-minute solo titled “Lake Maligne,” which, according to a release from the museum, drawsinspiration from the “light, composition and spirit of Harris’s mid-career landscapes.” Each dance will take place within the gallery playing host to Harris’s works, using his works as backdrops.
The Lawren Harris show (otherwise known as “The Idea of North”) opened earlier this month with an event hosted byco-curator, actor/writer/bon vivant Steve Martin. The 30-piece collection of Harris’s paintings is on their second stop, following a show at the Hammer in Los Angeles, en route back to the Art Gallery of Ontario in July.
