We’re super excited about NBC’s announcement that the network’s next televised musical will be the broadway classic “The Wiz.” Who will NBC pick to play Dorothy? They’ll have some big shoes to fill, since both Stephanie Mills and Diana Ross have previously held the role.
What about the Scarecrow? Michael Jackson famously played the character in the 1978 film version. It will be petty tough for any performer to live up to that performance.

NBC has previously produced “The Sound of Music” starring Carried Underwood, and “Peter Pan” starring Allison Williams. Both of the productions were big hits for the network.
