The NDP government has put out a tender for their much-discussed fiscal review.
Darrell Dexter repeatedly cited the need for an independent review on the campaign trail. He said he couldn’t give detailed information about how his government would balance the books until the review was complete.
Companies will have until Thursday, July 2 to bid on the contract for the review, which will begin July 6. An interim report will be required by Aug. 7, giving the NDP time to factor its results into a fall budget. A final report will be due Oct. 16.
“That’s the whole point of having the review, to try and get an independent perspective on the books and use that in our preparations for the budget,” Premier Darrell Dexter said yesterday.
