B.C. needs to protect ticket buyers from being gouged, the NDP’s arts critic said yesterday.
Spencer Herbert introduced the Fair Pricing in Ticketing Act to legislators in Victoria in an attempt to stop big name ticket sellers from increasing prices and to stop scalping.
“Simply put, it’s not fair. Artists will price their tickets so that their fans can actually afford to go to their shows,” Herbert said. “Then you get these companies stepping in and putting it out of reach for the average folks just so they can make a massive profit.”
