Needham commuter line, some Red line stops offline this weekend

Needham commuter rail riders will want to find another way home if trying to board after 8:30 p.m. Thursday — service will be suspended through the end of the day Sunday and no shuttle buses will run.

Service will be suspended along the entire line due to the LaGrange Street Bridge Replacement in West Roxbury, according to MBTA alerts. Regular service will resume in time for the morning commute Monday, Nov. 14.

All other commuter rails will have regular service on Veteran’s Day tommorrow.

T riders should be warned of some slowdowns along the Red line Thursday. Construction will cause minor delays on trains traveling southbound between JFK/UMass and North Quincy station.

Red line riders should also prepare for train service to be suspended this weekend between JFK/UMass and Ashmont so construction crews can work on the Savin Hill overpass project. Regular service will resume Monday, Nov. 14.

Despite the inconveniences on the T and commuter rail lines, MBTA buses are a relatively reliable alternative for travelers Thursday afternoon. All bus lines were online and on time except for nine experiencing minor delays due to traffic.
