Council’s committees have been selected and the mayor said he is pleased with experienced aldermen taking the lead.
During yesterday’s organizational meeting, council re-appointed two former chairs.
Ald. Gord Lowe was named to chair the Finance and Corporate Services committee and Ald.
John Mar as chairman of the Community and Protective Services committee.
“I’m really, really excited about the way the new members of council have stepped up to the plate to take real leadership roles, as well as those who’ve been around for a while have really committed to mentoring some of their more junior colleagues,” said Mayor Naheed Nenshi yesterday.
The first regular council meeting is on Nov. 8.
