A year-long wait has finally come to an end for the Brooklyn Nets.

On Tuesday, the team acquired shooting guard Allen Crabbe from the Portland Trail Blazers for power forward Andrew Nicholson, as first reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski

The Nets have been high on Crabbe for quite some time, signing him to a $75 million offer sheet in July of 2016. Coming off a third season in which he put up a then-career-high 10.3 points per game, the Blazers decided to match Brooklyn’s offer and retain the restricted free agent.

Coming off the bench behind C.J. McCollum, Crabbe put up 10.7 points per game while shooting 44-percent from three-point range, but it looks as though he became an expendable piece in Portland.

Brooklyn will be paying Crabbe almost $19 million per year until his contract is up after the 2019-2020 season where he will be competing for playing within a suddenly crowded Nets backcourt.

Making some solid improvements throughout the offseason, the Nets acquired guard D’Angelo Russell from the Los Angeles Lakers to team up with Jeremy Lin. They’ll be supported not only by Crabbe, but by Isaiah Whitehead, Caris LeVert and Sean Kilpatrick.
