New app helps get dogs adopted

When it comes to animals versus people on Instagram, animals definitely win. Everyone knows the surest way to rack up the double clicks is to pose with a pet. Now a new app is using cute photos of dogs to help get pooches who still need a home adopted.

Dogly has a wide range of editing tools, encouraging people to get creative when posting photos of their dog. And posting pays off in a big way. Each month, the Dogly user whose photo gets the most love is awarded $1,000 from Dogly to give to a shelter of his or her choice. Additionally,Doglygives $500 four times a month to someone who posts an especially creative photo, who then can decide which shelter will be given the money.

The app’s money incentive and cool editing tools encourages more shelters to be active on social media, therefore showing off their cute dogs to people who are looking to adopt. Our only question is, what about the cats? Can we expect a Catly to launch any time soon?
