New images show suspect in attacks on elderly

Police have intensified their hunt for a serial robber who has been targeting the elderly in two boroughs with acts of violence before stealing from them.

The NYPD has released new images of the suspect, described as a black man between 40 and 60 years old, 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall and about 250 pounds. The images were captured around the most recent attack on March 26, when the suspect allegedly hit an 83-year-old woman in the face with a hard object after he knocked on the door of her apartment at Ocean Parkway and Beverly Road in Brooklyn before fleeing empty-handed, police reported.

On March 19, the same suspect allegedly demanded money from an 81-year-old woman and 43-year-old man in a building at Prospect Place and Carlton Avenue in Brooklyn, according to police, who added that he threatened the pair with a boxcutter and gun before fleeing with $330.

On Wednesday, March 2, at 555 Ninth St. in Brooklyn, police stated that the suspect followed a 91-year-old woman, placed her in a chokehold and took her money before also robbing at gunpoint a 50-year-old man who happened upon the incident. The suspect fled with $370.

On Feb. 11, the suspect allegedly followed a 71-year-old woman into her residence at Prospect Place and Sixth Avenue in Brooklyn, where he robbed her of $375 after hitting her in the mouth, causing a laceration, and attempting to tie her up, according to police.

The suspect’s first robbery was reported on Jan. 20 and took place near Myrtle Avenue and Weirfield Street in Queens, authorities have stated. The suspect followed a 76-year-old woman into her home and demanded money from her and an 87-year-old man while threatening them with a knife and gun.
