New iPhone app to train novice drivers

It’s cooler, fun, more savvy and educational, too.

Alberta Motor Association Driver Education has partnered with Fission Media to develop the latest free iPhone app to help new drivers prepare for their licence exams, according to AMA.

“We’re very excited to be able to offer this as a free app,” said Stephen Chan, AMA director of driver education.

Chan said the application will also result in better drivers on the road and will be able to track their progress while studying.

“We feel this application will help people to not only pass the test, but also better understand the principles of driving.”

Grade 12 student Chelsea Anderson said she will download the phone application to study before she takes her test in the fall — she already failed once by one question.

“I think it’s a great idea. I always seem to lose the books and I find them boring to read,” she said.

“I think this sounds more interactive and easier to learn, plus I always have my phone with me on the bus so I can study anytime.”

The app is now available as a free download at the Apple iTunes store under the listings for AMA.
