New looks for fall

Franco Nigro and Rachel Kapsalis are partners in life and fashion with Quorum and Vetrina salons.

As sad as I am to see summer come to an end, I’m just as excited to see what new looks are in store for fall/winter.

Early indications say that shimmering metallics are hot — and if Italian couture is your style, then you’ll want to run to Rachel Kapsalis and her Vetrina boutique on Georgia where, last week, she unveiled the latest in heavy metals.

The ‘Gold Digger,’ two-night, invitation-only, fashion show gave VIPs a chance to view the private collection and shop early.

Meanwhile, fans of B.C. food and wine gathered at the Rocky Mountaineer Station for the third annual Chef Meets Grape fun and foodie night out.

Twelve restaurant chefs paired their fair with winning wines and good times to entice guests. Wild B.C. seafood was the theme and winning the People’s Choice and Judge’s Choice was the dream.

Celebrating her birthday in style, Natasha Doman, left, and mom Sherry enjoy a night out at Vetrina.

Wearing one-of-a-kind gowns are John Casablanca models Crystal Hendricks, left, and Britta Bentz.

The Joe Fortes/ Goldfish gals were busy dipping and sipping at Chef Meets Grape. From left: Stephanie Jagger, Colette Lynch, Katie Parkinson and Nessa van Bergen.

Lumiere restaurant’s Jay Ocol, left, Misty Oakes and James Taylor carry on the Rob Feenie tradition at Chef Meets Grape.

Jim Bagan, of Township 7 Vineyards, proves that Langley has what it takes to compete with the big boys.

Whitefish Beverage girls Michelle Tipper, left, and Olga Mancini show off their new Therapy wines called Pink Freud and Freudian Sip.

Wearing a gorgeous green-with-envy gown at Vetrina is real estate dynamo Alexis Palkowski.
