The Halifax Rainmen will announce their new head coach at a press conference this afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
The Rainmen, who fired Rick Lewis on Tuesday, are looking for a coach who will implement more movement on offence, greater tenacity on defence, smarter in-game adjustments, and better mental preparedness.
Lewis guided the Rainmen to a 12-20 record in the American Basketball Association and had them off to a 6-5 start in the Premier Basketball League this year.
Owner Andre Levingston didn’t tip his hand on his choice, but joked, “I tried to get (Los Angeles Lakers head coach) Phil Jackson but they have an opportunity for a championship and he couldn’t leave, so I had to get the next best coach.”
