One of Governor Cuomo’s biggest NYC projects will kick offconstruction by the end of this year. Per apress releasereleased yesterday,the Cuomo administration has put out arequest for proposals(RFP) forthe first phase of theJacob K. Javits Center’s $1 billion expansion. The chosen firm will be responsiblefor the design and construction ofa three-story buildingthat will holdtransformers, back-up generators, and other electrical equipmentforthe updated complex. This initialwork will prepare themassivesite for the larger expansion project that will increase the size of the events facility by 1.2 million square feet, bringing the total square footage to a hefty3.3 million square feet.
