A 2-year-old girl who was hit by falling bricks on the Upper West Side on Sunday has died from her injuries, authorities confirmed this afternoon.
The girl was sitting on a bench with her grandmother when bricks came loose from a building on West End Avenue between 74th and 75th Streets, knocking her unconscious.
She was immediately taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center in critical condition - along with her grandmother, who suffered minor injuries.

The Daily News is reporting that the girl’s name was Greta Greene, and that she was with her grandmother Susan Frierson.
The bricks fell from the eighth-floor window ledge of an apartment building.
The city’s department of buildings is investigating at the scene, and the building owners Esplanade Venture Partnership have received a building code violation after the incident.
