82-year-old woman dies after being bound with tape in LES home

Another women was also bound, but was able to break free and call 911.

Police on the Lower East Side are investigating the death of an 82-year-old after two women were assaulted and bound on Friday, authorities said.

Police responded to a 911 call at 5:35 p.m. at 711 FDR Drive in the East Village. Ella-Nae Biaz’s ankles and wrists bound with tape when police arrived, according to police. EMS pronounced the 82-year-old dead on the scene.

The 39-year-old woman was also bound, but was able to break free and alert police. She has been taken to Bellevue Hospital for her injuries.

A suspect has been taken into custody, NYPD said.
