Take atasting tour($20) of French food hallLe Districttonight from 5 to 9 p.m. You’ll be welcomed with a glass of wine, then stroll leisurely (as is the French custom) amid the massive food hall’s stations for signature bites from each. Grab a ticket at Le District’s Concierge stand in Brookfield Place.
Urboputs on a serious party upstairs, and tonight the old-school New York restaurant is swapping its decor for Parisian chic and four bands (including Stephane Wrembel, the composer for “Midnight in Paris”), swing dancing, Champagne cocktails, French fare and more. Entry is free, though food is a la carte. Party starts at 5 p.m. and will keep swinging until 2 a.m.

For the most fashionable party around (and if there’s one thing the French do as well as food…) head toLe Bainat the Standard for Maison Kitsuné’sdaytime disco(5-10 p.m.) with crepes, roséand music is by Chordashian, Antoine Karl and Hart & Aire Zaire.
Tribeca’sCercle Rougeis throwing its annual block party from noon to 9 p.m. today. Entry is free, and you can watch a petanque tournament, enjoy the musical stylings of Jazz Age Lawn Party staple Michael Arenella & His Hot Eight and a show by professional can-can dancers while strolling the outdoor market of food and drinks.
TheAstor Centeris celebrating arguably France’s finest export with a walk-around tasting ($45) of 22 French wines tonight from 6-8 p.m. There will, of course, be cheese and charcuterie as well.
OpenTableandFrench Restaurant Weekstretched the holiday through July 19, with37 participating restaurantsoffer prix fixe lunch and/or dinner menus for $17.89, $35.78 or $178.90. Le Cirque’s $178.90 menu includes a bottle of Champagne, lobster salad and crème brûlée, while Triomphe is serving all three specials: a $17.89 bar menu, $35.78 “gourmand” lunch or a $178.90 dinner for two. A portion of proceeds benefit Action Against Hunger International.

There’s nothing more French than a breezy meal of a savory baguette.Il Buco Alimentaricrammed the three pillars of French cuisine — wine, bread and cured meats — into one baguette that’s fermented and baked with red wine and dried sausage ($5.50).
Maison Kayseris not only serving a special Baguette Frenchie for just $4.95, stuffed with prosciutto, shredded Gruyere cheese and caramelized onions, but opening its newest location at 355 Greenwich St. in Tribeca today. The new restaurant has an expanded coffee counter serving up small-batch, single-origin Coperaco brews, and an outdoor cafe is coming soon.
