School custodian allegedly sold students’ semen at sperm bank

Police have arrested a Queens school janitor for using a child in a sexual performance and endangering the welfare of a child after he allegedly assaulted two teens for months by engaging in sex acts with them and selling their semen at a sperm bank.

William Romero, a janitor at Robert F. Kennedy Community High School who lived in the same Bayside, Queens, co-op complex as two students, has been arrested for allegedly providing the teens with cash and gifts in exchange for them masturbating in front of him so he could subsequently sell their sperm to a sperm bank, the New York Daily News has reported.

“On multiple occasions … the defendant, William Romero, instructed the [victim] to masturbate in front of the defendant,” the criminal complaint was quoted by the Daily News. “The defendant watched the [victim] masturbate and then instructed the [victim] to ejaculate into a cup. … On several occasions, the defendant touched and squeezed the [victim’s] testicles,” the complaint added.

Romero, 45, is alleged to have assaulted the teens for at least the past six months, police sources told the New York Post in a related report. He also allegedly exposed and fondled himself in front of the victims.

Police were alerted to the allegations after one victim, 16, came forward to police on Christmas Eve, the Daily News reported, also stating that a 15-year-old has since come forward with similar allegations.

One victim told police that Romero told him about talking dirty to other boys and scraping semen from the school’s bathroom stalls to sell at the sperm bank, police sources said to the Daily News.

“The allegations Mr. Romero is being charged with are deeply disturbing and his employment has been terminated. He is no longer eligible to work in any DOE schools,” Department of Education Deputy Press Secretary Toya Holness said.

Romero was picked up by police just after 9:30 p.m. on New Year’s Day, according to the Post.

When arrested by police, Romero had cash and a plastic collection cup with him, the Daily News added.
