Boy, 11, faces hate crime charges for setting Brooklyn school bus on fire

Surveillance camera footage reportedlycaptured the crime in action as a group of young boys boarded a school bus in Brooklyn and set it on fire on Sunday.

Now, an 11-year-old suspect is facing hate crime charges, according to NBC New York.

The bus belongs to the Bnos Chomesh Academy, a Jewish school for girls.

The website CrownHeights.info obtained a copy of the security footage.

The child’s charges include arson as a hate crime and criminal mischief as a hate crime, NBC reported.

Police told the New York Daily News that the fire was the third incident believed to be anti-Semitic in three days in the neighborhood.

“I don’t know why they would do that. Maybe they were just bored, or maybe it really was about hate. Either way they blew up a bus. They need help,” Chani Klein, a parent at the academy, told the Daily News.
