A 4-year-old boy is dead after his 6-year-old brother accidentally shot him in the head in their East Orange home, NBC 4 New York reported. The shooting reportedly happened around 11:16 a.m. on Norman Street. Police told the network that the gun reportedly to the boy’s mother, but it’s not yet clear how the child got the gun. Investigators said she was home at the time of the shooting. Police reportedly continue to investigate.
Neither the names of the mother nor her sons have been released. The child’s condition was not immediately available.
