A Bronx man was convicted for killing his mother, dismembering her body and taking a selfie with her severed head, Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced on Monday.

Bahsid McLean, 26, of 645 Westchester Ave., was convicted on Friday and will face sentencing for second-degree murder and unlawful dissection of Tanya Byrd on Dec. 5. McLean is looking at 25 years to life in prison, according to the D.A.’s office.

“The defendant fatally stabbed his mother and then chillingly took photos with her mutilated corpse,” Clark said. “A jury has found him guilty of these horrific acts and now he faces many years in prison.”

During the initial investigation, McLeanreportedly told policethat his friend, William Harris, killed Byrd because she did not like that he was selling marijuana. McLean claimed at the time that he helped Harris hack Byrd’s body into pieces.

Harris reportedly told police a similar story, claiming that he only helped McLean dissect Byrd’s body.
