A Bronx woman was found stabbed to death and surrounded by lit candles in her home on Sunday, investigators said.
Responding to a 911 report of a gas odor, firefighters discovered Lilawatee Ramsaran, 69, on her living room floor with approximately 14 stab wounds to her back and a laceration on her head.
They found lit candles around the room, and determined that the stove had been tampered with and was leaking gas.

Ramsaran, who lived alone in her basement apartment at 886 Cranford Ave. in Wakefield, shares her house with two tenants. The tenants told police they didn't see or hear anything unusual.
There was no sign of forced entry into the home, police said.
No arrest has been reported.
