Described only as a woman in her twenties, paramedics said she was unconscious and unresponsive.

EMS rushed her to Jacobi Medical Center where doctors pronounced her dead soon after.

The shooting took place not far from two area schools — Public School 89 and Christopher Columbus High School — about an hour after school let out.

Authorities said the investigation was ongoing, and no arrests had been made by Thursday evening.
