A Brooklyn man who struck a mother and daughter on Tuesday night, killing 10-year-old Blima Friedman, is awaiting his next court date after a Wednesday arraignment.
On the night of the incident, Bilal Ghumman, 22, drove through the intersection of 60th Street and 18th Avenue in Brooklyn when he collided with Friedman and her mother. Friedman was taken to Maimonides Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, and her mother was taken to Lutheran Hospital where she remained in stable condition.
Ghumman was arrested at the scene and charged with unauthorized use of a 2015 Honda Odyssey without consent, a misdemeanor. The Brooklyn District Attorney was still deciding on Wednesday whether or not to increase his charges.
Ghumman is due back in court on December 8, when the DA could present new charges in the wake of Friedman's passing.
