A Brooklyn man died Sunday afternoon after being stabbed repeatedly in the head in his East New York apartment, police said.

Officers found Russell Holdip, 54, shortly before 2 p.m. at his apartment at 194 Grant Ave. He was taken to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center and pronounced dead.

His attacker has not been arrested, and the investigation continues.

Multiple news outlets have identified Holdip’s alleged killer as Bernette Singleton, his girlfriend’s mentally ill 34-year-old daughter.

The alleged attacker’s sister told CBS New York that Singleton suffers from schizophrenia and was released from a psychiatric hold three days before the incident.
