A Midwood man was sentenced to 22 years to life in prison on Tuesday for raping a 13-year-old girl in 2013, Brooklyn DA Ken Thompson said on Wednesday.

Bennett Castello, 42, was convicted last month of the first-degree rape of a then-13 year old girl in a Gravesend laundry room basement after forcing her on to an elevator with a pair of scissors.

He threatened to kill the teen if she told anyone, but after Castello fled, the girl ran upstairs and told her parents. They called 911, and Castello was eventually arrested.

He was convicted after a jury trial last month of predatory sexual assault, two counts of first-degree rape, first degree sexual abuse and first-degree burglary as a sexually motivated felony, according to the DA’s office.

Castello is a registered sex offender who has served 14 years in prison for similar forced sex attacks, the New York Post reported.
