Fans of “The Goonies” may have many memorable scenes from the classic ‘80s movie — but who could forget Brand (Josh Brolin) stealing a bike from a little girl after he discovers his new tires have been popped.
The film that shows how central bikes are to childhood adventures will be showing this Thursday at 7:20 p.m./dusk for free at the Prospect Park Bandshell.
Sponsored by Citi Bike, the “outdoor bike-in movie” will celebrate itsrecent expansion in Brooklyn, Harlem and the Upper East and Upper West Sides
Transportation Alternatives will be providing free valet bike parking for anyone whoarrives tothe event on a personal bike. Citi Bike will also offer valet service at a special "mobile station" for riders at the bandshell, but nonbikers are also welcome. Attendees are just asked to bring blankets and chairs, since there will be no formal seating for the event.
Moviegoers can grab something to eat at the event from food trucks, or a free snack from Clif Bar, which will also provide small bike repairs on site.
Reduced-cost Citi Bike memberships will be available to attendees who sign up for Citi Bike for the first time, and Lyft ambassadors will also be on-site offering swag and ride credits.
