Two NYPD officers who edited Wikipedia pages on the chokehold death of Eric Garner, stop-and-frisk, and several high-profile shootings — including the Sean Bell Case — likely won’t be punished, NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton said Monday.
Last week, Capital New York reported that IP addresses tracked to 1 Police Plaza edited the pages as well as info on 90s band Chumbawamba, the Catholic Church and the tv shows “Sons of Anarchy” and “Judge Judy.”
Bratton said Monday the department will be reviewing social media policies, but that the department doesn’t have a Wikipedia-specific policy.

“The information's so incorrect most of the time on Wikipedia we could spend half our lifetime trying to correct it, so why bother,” Bratton said.
