Investigators said Vargas was found on the floor of her Inwood apartment building's lobby at around 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 28.
Paramedics took Vargas to the nearby hospital in stable condition at the time.
Authorities tracked down her alleged shover, 24-year-old Hansel Ramirez, who lives a few buildings away from Vargas.
Officers charged Ramirez with assault, but NYPD said the investigation was ongoing.
