A man who tried to rob a Boost Mobile store in the Bronx left empty-handed Friday evening, after a store employee scared him off by throwing items at him.

Police said the suspect entered the store at 25-38 Broadway in the Bronx armed with a silver handgun.

He told the woman not to scream and to give him cash, but police said the woman did scream, and began grabbing random objects to throw at the assailant.

Eventually, the man ran off, and the employee was not injured.

Authorities described the suspect as a Hispanic man, wearing a long-sleeved purple shirt with “METRO PCS” written on it, black shorts, black sneakers, a black Yankee baseball cap and dark sunglasses.

Anyone who may have information about the case is urged to call 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or in Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
