A man who posed as a cab driver and told travelers arriving at JFK that the Air Train was broken has been arrested on forgery and soliciting charges.
Queens DA Richard Brown said Barnabas Laurent, 47, sought out passengers at the terminal on Saturday, telling them the Air Train was down, and that he drove a Super Shuttle that could take them to their destination.
Laurent, who lives on Long Island, has been arraigned on the charges of criminal possession of a forged instrument, criminal impersonation, criminal trespass and unlawful solicitation. He is being held in lieu of $500 bail, and faces up to a year in jail if convicted.
